Johnny Winter to be inducted into the Southeast Texas "Walk Of Fame"
On November 17, 2005, the Southeast Texas Walk Of Fame will honor and induct
Edgar Winter and Johnny Winter into the Southeast Texas “Walk of Fame” at
Ford Park in Beaumont, Texas for their contribution to music and career
accomplishments . They will awarded the key to the city by the Mayor and County
Judge.At this special presentation, Jefferson County officials will unveil 2’
x 2’ Cement block with each Artists name on them. Edgar Winter and Johnny
Winter will be the third and fourth inductees. Mark Chesnutt and Tracy Byrd were
the first inductees into the Southeast Texas “Walk of Fame.” Janis Joplin is
scheduled to be the fifth inductee on December 2nd.

Blues and rock music legends Johnny and Edgar Winter,
both born and raised in Beaumont, who performed here
for a special hurricane benefit concert Thursday night at the
Beaumont Civic Center. The last time the two brothers
were on stage together was 24 years ago, also at the civic center.

Beaumont natives Edgar and Johnny Winter, who have not performed together on the same stage in more than 30 years, have agreed to participate in a "Still Alive and Well Homecoming Benefit" on November 17 at the Beaumont Civic Center. "All net proceeds
benefit the Southeast Texas Food Bank," said a news release from
SoutheastTexas.com, sponsor of the event. "After serving victims of
Hurricanes Katrina and Rita, the Southeast Texas Food Bank is in need of
